A New Toy Awaits!

So, as the Ninja Turtle and GodzillaPin may have alluded, they popped in to the Adelaide City Council Library during their sojourn Down Under. In the lab, they were shown some pretty cool things, like the 3D printing machines, the current designs that the guys were working on, and some final products.

A design about to be born.

One of the lads in the lab, Adrien, directed us onto tinkercad.com, where we spent a week working through the tutorials, toying with several designs, and returning with two we’d chosen. Adrien then refined the designs, and off they went!

So these were the final products: a ring and cufflinks. In black plastic, of course.

So these were the final products: a  heart ring with T for Turtle, and GP cufflinks for GodzillaPin. In black plastic, of course.

Sadly, later the very same day, the Ninja Turtle and GodzillaPin went out for drinks with friends, where Turtle proceeded to get pretty shit-faced and paid the price for her wanton, reckless drinking – she lost her ring. =O

There are very few things in the world that can cause tangible heartache when they go missing, and take her word on it, the Turtle had heart palpitations the moment she discovered she’d lost the very first ring she’d ever 3D printed. It was black. It was beautiful. It was brilliant. It was gone forever.

Fortunately, when one whinges, the Universe listens, and sends some sort of a consolation, because when they arrived back in the village this weekend, the Turtle found a parcel awaiting her.

3Doodler is “the world’s first 3D drawing pen”, and the Turtle received this as a recompense for supporting the project on Kickstarter.

The beautiful pen, that hardly weighs a thing, but is a little bit fat to hold on to.

As GodzillaPin and the Ninja Turtle still have to pay some social calls, they most regrettably have to wait a bit longer before they can start cracking on this new toy. No doubt, more will be written about it in the future. For now, have a Super Sunday, and remember:

ALWAYS read the instruction manual.
